Student/Parent Athletic Code of Conduct

At Sahag-Mesrob Armenian Christian School, we believe athletics play a valuable role in shaping character, teamwork, discipline, and school spirit. As a parent or guardian of a student-athlete, your encouragement, behavior, and involvement help create a positive and supportive environment for all participants. To ensure our athletic program reflects our school's mission and values, we ask all parents to review and uphold the following code of conduct.

As a parent or guardian, I agree to:

1. Support Christ-Centered Sportsmanship

Encourage my child and their teammates to display integrity, humility, and respect—win or lose.
Model Christ-like behavior and refrain from negative comments toward players, coaches, referees, or other spectators.

2. Respect Coaches and Officials

Trust the judgment and decisions of coaches and referees.
Address concerns privately and respectfully with coaches, never during games or in front of students.

3. Promote a Positive Environment

Cheer positively and encourage all athletes, including members of opposing teams.
Avoid coaching or shouting instructions from the sidelines.
Refrain from any form of disruptive behavior, verbal abuse, or unsportsmanlike conduct.

4. Support My Child's Commitment

Ensure punctuality and regular attendance at practices and games.
Missed practices without notice WILL result in NO game time.
Notify coaches ahead of time regarding absences or scheduling conflicts.
Missed practices without notice WILL result in limited to NO game time.
Encourage my child to honor their commitments and to balance academics and athletics responsibly.

5. Respect School Policies and Guidelines

Follow all event rules and guidelines as communicated by the school or league.
Understand that participation in athletics is a privilege, and violations of this code WILL result in Parent removal from team activities and student removal from the team(s). (Athletic Fee will not be refundable)
